The design started with the idea of returning education into the landscape. Developed as a campus (administration, middle school, arts/library, high school, and gym/cafeteria), each program benefits from a direct link to courtyards and exterior classroom opportunities, enabling the curriculum to involve the environment. Within the landscape, both middle and high school components are provided planting beds and orchards outside the science labs. These provide a curriculum enrichment as well as providing fresh fruit and vegetables for use by the cafeteria, with surplus provided to students.
